Intro to Long Range

Required Equipment:
-Rifle capable of 3 MOA
-Scope with at minimum a mil-dot reticle. Know what power your scope subtends at. Scope mounted and leveled.
-50 rounds of consistent ammunition. Match ammunition prefered.
-Know the type of bullet in your ammuntion and its ballistic coeffiecient. (we can help with this)
-Pen and paper

Intro to long range is a free course designed to teach new shooters about ballistic curves and drop at ranges 300 yard and farther. This course is designed as a prep course to anyone interested in the Minnesota Action Rifle Series, PRS matches, or any other type of long range shooting. After completed the shooter will know how to:
Range and engage targets at unknown distances using a reticle and drop chart
Have a trued ballistic chart for the ammunition and rifle provided
Understand MIL and MOA measurements
Only basic eqipment is required to attend.
The course itinerary is as follows:
Chronograph ammunition
Build basic ballistic chart
Head to 500 Yard KD range
Presentation on MIL and MOA.
Presentation on Range finding using MIL and MOA
Equipment Presentation
Confirm Zero and 500 yard drop. Correct indivual ballistic chart
Team work reticle ranging and target engagement practice.
Q&A
Move to 2400 yard UKD Range
Confirm and true ballistic data using applied ballistics software.
Team work reticle ranging and target engagement out to 1000 yards
Q&A
This will be an all day long event. Rain or shine. Bring plenty of Food/Water.
